Bonetti Campers was established in 2012 by Stefano Bonetti. With his extensive knowledge in 4WD Camper Conversion as Master Mechanic in Switzerland working in different many fields. Including 4WD Camper Conversion in automotive technologies, from cars, trucks buses, construction vehicles to recreational vehicles.
Working on recreational vehicles begun when he moved away from Switzerland to California in 2006. This insight into the RV technologies of the US market opened up a way to move to Australia, where he worked for KEA Campers as National Fleet Operations Manager. After a short work assignment at KEA Campers in Namibia as General Manager, which gave him a great insight into the African RV market and offroad conditions for a 4WD Camper Conversion.
4WD Camper Conversion Cruisinator
With all this knowledge Bonetti Campers in 4WD Camper Conversion started to build the Cruisinator 6×6, but after KEA closed its doors, Stefano was offered to buy the parts stock of KEA, which made Bonetti Camper as main suppliers for KEA Camper parts and most important factory trained knowledge.
Cruisinator 4WD Camper Conversion Pop-Top Car Camper
Stefano’s passion for the open spaces of the Australian landscape, 4WD Camper Conversion vehicles and Pop-Top Car Campers made to travel the world. Whilst he loved the KEA Conqueror which he redesigned the interior in 2008, he felt there can be much more achieved with a drastic design change to the better. In 2015, shortly after moving the business to the beautiful Sunshine Coast, he started to design and develop the Cruisinator.
The design specification had to achieve minimal features:
- Minimal modification to original vehicle roof, leaving the drivers cabin in original state
- Queen-sized bed
- Minimum of 10cm mattress thickness
- More storage
- Simple setup, by lifting the roof and that’s it.
- Custom fridge next to door, to allow easy access to stock and use fridge
- Spacious and useable cabinetry with safe locking handles
- Ability to install hot water system 12 – 14L
- Ability of fresh water tanks up to 100l
- Ability for grey water tank fitted
- Ability to fit almost any awning available
- Low centre of gravity
- Flat roof, insulated to allow stick on solar panels, height above bed 80cm

After nearly one year developing, the first Cruisinator 4WDCamper Conversion was made and a completely new approach to given facts, has been presented to the Overlanding and Expedition Vehicle market worldwide. The deceiving looks, based on the clear lines and bold design, is an eye catcher that will be fully honoured after your first insight into the camper.
The much bigger internal space welcomes you and makes you feel instantly comfortable, the oversized bed is inviting and allows a good night rest, the well sized windows allow fresh air and comfortable sleeping climate. There is an abundance of storage as we tried to use all available spaces, there is storage under the bed and side collars, well sized cabinetry and comfortable space to move around, even when the bed is used, the other person can comfortably sit at the table.

Next to the Cruisinator ™ production, we still repair and maintain the ex KEA Campers and any other Slide-on, Camper-van, Motor home and Caravan. We have a very loyal customer base from all over Australia who are happy to come up to the Sunshine Coast to get repairs and servicing done while enjoying a field trip or the long way round, we do upgrades on the battery, chargers, management and solar systems, modify lighting, modify and replace cabinetry and wheel alignment.
We can assist with spring upgrades, tires and many things more. The benefit is you can rest assured that I know where is what and how things were made, why they were made that way and can bring back your vehicle to manufacturer’s standards or make your vehicle better performing to suit your needs.
